Flagstaff, Arizona is one of the sunniest cities in America and it’s volcanoes line the border. Talk about some heat.

El Paso, Texas

The abundance of the sun’s rays makes it one of the sunniest cities in America.  Situated in the Rio Grande near the town of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, El Paso receives a little over nine inches of rain every year.

Reno, Nevada

Having an 80% chance of sun, Reno has an average of 250 sunny days per year. Reno is the biggest city in northern Nevada, situated on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Flagstaff has more than 265 days a year with sunny skies. At an elevation of 7,000 feet, the city is situated on a mountain bordered by volcanoes. it’s one of the sunniest cities in America. 

Sacramento, California

Sacramento has a more than 77% chance of sunshine during the year. The likelihood of catching a sunny day in Sacramento during July and August rises to 96%. The city, which is in the northern part of California’s Central Valley, gets more than 3,600 hours of sunlight each year.

A non-U.S. spot on the list is Aswan, Egypt. This city gets an average of over 3,800 hours of sunlight yearly. Situated in the south of Egypt, just north of the Aswan Dams on the Nile, Aswan is a booming market city. The city flourished as a vital strategic location for Egypt. Today, it’s a laid-back town that’s much less overpowering than other well-known tourist stops in the country. Aswan has a subtropical desert climate with arid, hot temperatures year-round.

Dongola, Sudan

Dongola, located in one of the sunniest, hottest, and driest regions on earth gets more than 3,800 hours of sunshine annually. The city is on the banks of the Nile in a warm desert climate. June is the hottest month of the year, getting to somewhere over 110 degrees.

Redding, California

Located in northeastern California, the city of Redding takes over as the sunniest destination in the United States during the summer. On average, Redding has sunny days over 85% of the time.

Phoenix, Arizona

Known for its long, hot summers in the Sonoran Desert, Phoenix has sunshine over 85% of the time. An average of 3,872 sunshine hours per year makes it one of the top ten sunniest cities in the world.

Las Vegas, Nevada

Just behind Phoenix, Las Vegas has an average of over 3,800 hours per year with an 85 percent chance of sunshine on any given day. Also, the city has very little humidity and no more than five inches of rain yearly.

Fresno, California

You get mild winters and hot summers, around 79% of the time, in Fresno, Cali. Situated in the San Joaquin Valley, Fresno is a straight shot to Yosemite National Park.
